Tuesday 5th January 2016... this was the date I could honestly say for the first time I felt BIG during this pregnancy. I was 34 weeks exactly at the time. It seemed to just happen overnight and all of a sudden I was struggling to do things like put on socks, walk upstairs without getting out of breath or even roll over in bed without it being a mission!
My view has been somewhat obstructed by my ever-growing belly lately but we took your brother swimming at the weekend and mummy caught sight of herself in the mirror in her swimming costume! Eek, my thighs and butt did not look that fat the last time I clapped eyes on them. But a friend of mine told me that it's not normal to have a thigh gap when you're pregnant.... I guess not!

So, here we are at 36 weeks and I'm beginning to feel increasingly excited about your upcoming birthday :)
The niggles of late pregnancy are really starting to set it now. Back ache, lack of sleep, the inability to walk very far, more Braxton Hicks and the beating that you give me from the inside :P
By this point when I was carrying Dexter, my bump had dropped significantly as his head engaged but apparently in second pregnancies this usually happens later, sometimes not even until you are ready to go into labour so I am carrying you much higher than I did your brother at this stage.... which makes it easier to walk but harder to breathe, I'm not sure which is preferable haha
But (hopefully) it all won't be for much longer now and things are slowly starting to come together as I get random bursts of that so-called nesting instinct:
- Your bedroom is almost complete
- The car seat has been brought out of storage
- We have a stash of nappies & wipes ready for your arrival
- I have begun washing your newborn sized clothes
28 days and counting... try not to be too late coming out, baby girl xx
