Two and a half...

You have changed in so many ways these past 6 months. You look more grown up. Your speech is ridiculously good and you talk non-stop! You level of understanding and ability to follow instructions is growing. And quite naturally, with all these overwhelming changes happening at once, your emotions can't always keep up with ever changing world around you.....

In layman's terms, that means that you are stroppy. And over-sensitive. And highly strung. You don't think twice about making a scene if things aren't going your way. Basically you're a little diva!

We get lots of side glances and huffing and recently at the dinner table, daddy was on the receiving end of an eyeroll. AN EYEROLL!!! How does a child your age even know how to do that?? You are definitely a teenager before your time.

But along with all the sass (which part of me is secretly proud of you for) you are so bright and clever and loving and funny and adorable, argh! You're just bloody amazing.

We had your 2 year check with the health visitor a few weeks ago and we were told that physically, you are spot on. Developmentally you are flying! She was so impressed with how chatty you were and some of the words you could say.

Some of your current favourite words include:
  • delicious
  • excellent
  • awesome (you got that one from Dexter)
  • beautiful
  • amazing
Oh and of course:
  • no
You look up to your brother with such awe. You follow him round and mimic his actions and learn from his behaviour, and you are the apple of his eye! Like, he seriously loves you so much even when you're being a meanie to him. Every evening before you go to bed he says "night night, love you, be a good girl" because me and daddy used to say it when you were a baby and we were hoping you'd have a good nights sleep (so that we could have a good nights sleep haha).

(There's just too many cute pictures of you together that I couldn't narrow this down more...)

We are definitely going through a frustrating time with your behaviour at the moment and add on top of that, that no sooner was I counting my lucky stars that you still napped during the day, fate decided to slap me back to Earth and you mostly refuse to nap now.... but the personality and sense of humour that comes with all this is so rewarding - don't ever stop being you! I don't doubt that this is temporary and you grow and learn at such speed that this will be over before we know it and I'll be all sad that you're not this little adorable toddler anymore.
